Scott M. Weiner, D.Phil.

Chair of the Index Committee | Head of Quantitative Strategy | Portfolio Manager, Exchange Traded Products

Scott M. Weiner is the Head of Quantitative Strategy and Portfolio Manager for the Exchange Traded Products (ETP) group at Janus Henderson Investors. He is a member of the firmâ€™s Index Committee and serves on the Board of Directors for the Janus Henderson Foundation. Prior to joining VelocityShares, which Janus acquired in 2014, Dr. Weiner was managing director and U.S. head of equity derivatives and quantitative strategy at Deutsche Bank. He is the author of The Complete Guide to ETF Portfolio Management and his research has been published in Mathematical Finance, The Journal of Money, Credit and Banking and The Journal of Business and Economic Statistics.

Dr. Weiner received his bachelorâ€™s degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and masterâ€™s and doctoral degrees in economics from the University of Oxford. He completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. Dr. Weiner has 24 years of financial industry experience.

John McDermott, Ph.D.

Independent Index Committee Member

John McDermott is an Associate Professor of Finance at Fairfield University, Dolan School of Business. Dr. McDermottâ€™s research on hedging, market liquidity and index reconstitution has been published in notable finance journals, including the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Financial Markets and the Journal of Futures Markets. Additionally, he is Chief Investment Strategist of Symmetry Partners in Glastonbury, Connecticut, and is responsible for the management of over $8 billion in client assets.

Dr. McDermott received his bachelor of science degree in engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. He also holds an MBA from Columbia University and a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut.

Benjamin Wang, CFA

Portfolio Manager, ETP Quantitative Strategy

Benjamin Wang is a Portfolio Manager and member of the Exchange Traded Product (ETP) Quantitative Strategy Team at Janus Henderson Investors. Prior to joining VelocityShares, which Janus acquired in 2014, he spent five years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management as an execution trader in quantitative investment strategies. He began his career at Susquehanna International Group as an assistant trader.

Mr. Wang received a bachelor of science degree and master of engineering degree in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as a master of science in financial engineering from Columbia University. Mr. Wang holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has 16 years of financial industry experience.

Farzad Ali

Senior Risk Manager

Farzad Ali is a Senior Risk Manager at Janus Henderson Investors, a position he has held since 2006. In this role, he is responsible for the production of risk and performance analysis and collaborates with portfolio managers to help keep portfolios within their risk guidelines. Mr. Ali joined Janus in 2000 as a web specialist. In 2001, he became a portfolio information analyst in charge of calculating and analyzing performance and characteristics for separate and sub-advised accounts.

Mr. Ali received his bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Texas â€“ Austin. He has 21 years of financial industry experience.

Mike Mulder

Head of Distribution Compliance, NA | CCO, Janus Henderson Distributors

Mike Mulder is Head of Distribution Compliance, North America and Chief Compliance Officer for Janus Henderson Distributors, LLC. He is responsible for advertising review, sales practice oversight, exchange traded products compliance and product governance. Prior to this, Mr. Mulder was head of investment advisory and trading compliance, North America where he worked with the trading, investments and operations teams advising on complex products and projects. He joined Janus Henderson in 2008.

Mr. Mulder graduated with a degree in finance from the University of Northern Colorado. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 24 securities licenses and has 14 years of financial industry experience.

Zoey Zhu

Portfolio Manager | Quantitative Strategist

Zoey Zhu is a Portfolio Manager and Quantitative Strategist on the Exchange Traded Products (ETP) Quantitative Strategy Team at Janus Henderson Investors. Prior to joining the firm in 2018, she was with Credit Suisse as a business analyst in the fixed income derivatives group from 2013 and started her career there as a technology analyst in 2012.

Zoey earned a bachelor of computing degree with honours in information systems from National University of Singapore and a master of science degree in computational finance from Carnegie Mellon University. She is fluent in Mandarin. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has over 10 years of financial industry experience.
